The 12GB for £7 data is an exclusive offer that SMARTY have sent to comparison sites like us, to share with our readers. If you just go to SMARTY.co.uk regularly, the best you'll see is 12GB for £8.
But if you hit any of the deal links on this page (like this one here), SMARTY will take £1 off the full £8 cost of the plan, every month for 12 months (it returns to £8 after that).
That doesn't mean this is a 12-month contract. It's not. It's still on a 1-month rolling plan only. So you're free to change plans every month or even leave SMARTY altogether, if a better deal comes along elsewhere.
And if you've not been on SMARTY or Three before, that short plan length means you can basically try them risk-free. If you like it, you've got a bargain amount of data. If you don't like it, you're only £7 worse off and you can leave straight away.

SMARTY are a decent network to join on any deal
In our full SMARTY network review, we give them a good rating. We like their low prices and flexibility most. And their data discounts plans are a nice benefit (though this deal doesn't pay you anything back).
The 4G coverage in larger urban places is as good any mobile network and SMARTY's typical 4G download speeds between 20.39 Mbps and 25.2 Mbps (independent testers Speedtest and Opensignal's measurements of Three) are very healthy.
We're big fans of their 5G data too via the Three network, which is measuring up as comfortably the fastest in the country. It's being rolled out rapidly to more locations too.
You even get some more advanced network features nowadays on SMARTY like WiFi calling and 4G calling (VoLTE) to keep your phone connected in more places than ever before, particularly indoors.
