If you're already on a pay monthly SIM only or phone contract with Three, you qualify to take out one of their existing customer SIMs as an additional plan for a friend or family member.
The 12-month deals typically offer a £2 monthly discount vs the regular new-customer price of the equivalent plan, giving a modest but useful total saving of £24 a year.
It's worth saying that only a select number of plans are included and they're always ones that are on sale at full price in the new customer section. You can't get the £2 discount against plans that are already on offer.

Phone contracts: save on upfront and monthly costs
Again if you're on a pay monthly product such as a 1-month or 12-month SIM only or phone contract, you can access some exclusive discounts on additional plans from Three's entire phone range.
That includes iPhone and latest Samsung Galaxy models.
Typically, you'll save around £1-£3 on the monthly cost of a phone and often the upfront costs can be reduced or entirely waived vs the new-customer deals.
As with SIM only, if a new customer deal (such as one in a sale) is better value, Three will let you know and you're welcome to sign up to that as an existing customer too.

2) Choose your deal
3) Enter your Three phone number
4) Enter your details in the checkout
5) Wait for your new product to arrive!

How these deals are different to upgrading your own plan
It's important to note that all the deals above are intended for existing Three customers who want to add an additional plan to their account (for a friend or family member). They're not so-called 'retention deals' to keep you as a customer.
If you're a customer and you want to upgrade (from a phone to a new phone, from SIM only to a phone contract or from SIM only to a new SIM only plan), you have two options:
1) You can choose any regular deal that's available for new customers (see latest offers here)
or
2) You can log in at Three.co.uk to see if they have any custom offers for you
