Best network coverage and 4G/5G speeds in France
In this category, we’re looking for travel eSIM providers whose SIMs let you use the maximum number of local networks in France. And ones use the better French networks for coverage and speeds.
Here, we’d recommend both Roamless and Gigsky. Their eSIMs access all four networks in France (Bouygues, Free, Orange, SFR), giving you the best chance of having a connection wherever you go.

eSIMs with a phone number and calls in France
The vast majority of travel eSIMs for France are data-only at the moment. But it is still possible to get one with a phone number there, which will allow you to make and take phone calls and SMS too.
SIM local a very good choice for this. They’re a very slick operator, who use two networks in France (Free and Orange) and have a great range of different well-priced plans to fit most people’s needs.
We’d also recommend looking at Airhub. Their deals are very reasonable and you can get plans with unlimited minutes in France and other EU-to-EU calls (plus the UK). Have a look here:
Otherwise, some other operators do offer systems where you top up with credit and pay for what you use out of that. These include Travel SIM and Roamless. This is less convenient than just getting inclusive calls though.
