Best for data speeds and coverage in Spain
There are four main network operators in Spain. These are Vodafone, Orange, Yoigo (Xfera) and Movistar (Telefonica). To get the best signal and speeds, you ideally want an eSIM that accesses all of them.
And in Spain, you’re spoilt for choice. Loads of eSIM providers access all four. You’ve got a choice of Roamless, Breeze, Instabridge and Flexiroam. These will automatically put you on the best available network.

There are also some eSIM providers that use three of the Spanish networks, even if they don’t get you access to all. These are: airalo, SIM local, TravelSIM, yessim and Jetpac

eSIMs for Spain with a phone number and calls
The vast majority of travel eSIMs for France are data-only at the moment. But it is still possible to get one with a phone number there, which will allow you to make and take phone calls and SMS too.
SIM local a very good choice for this. They’re a very slick operator, who use two networks in France (Free and Orange) and have a great range of different well-priced plans to fit most people’s needs.
We’d also recommend looking at Airhub. Their deals are very reasonable and you can get plans with unlimited minutes in France and other EU-to-EU calls (plus the UK). Have a look here:
Otherwise, some other operators do offer systems where you top up with credit and pay for what you use out of that. These include Travel SIM and Roamless. This is less convenient than just getting inclusive calls though.
