About SIM Sherpa - your trusty guide to SIM only

SIM Sherpa was set up in 2014 by mobile telecoms industry professionals to increase consumer knowledge of SIM only contracts and deals, and their many benefits. And to be a trusty guide along the way. Here's why...

How SIM Sherpa works

Find a deal. Order direct from the network

We work hard every day to make using SIM Sherpa as simple to use as possible.

Find a deal you like via our many articles about different mobile topics or our handy search and comparison tools, then we'll take you directly to that network to place your order.

It really is as simple as that and you don't need to pay us anything or give us any personal details. We're just here to put you in touch with the right people for your needs.

How SIM Sherpa keeps you secure

By directing you to networks directly to place an order, SIM Sherpa does not take or keep any personal details about you. We don't know who you are and we're not really that interested!

If you request us to send a particular deal to you by email for later, we do not store or pass on your details to any third party. SIM Sherpa will also not contact you again, unless you ask us to.

Here's where you can read more about our privacy policy.

Why does SIM Sherpa want to help?

SIM Sherpa's founders are convinced that SIM only is the solution for many people who want an inexpensive way to get mobile services. This website is set up to help people learn about them and make the best decisions for their needs.

When people place an order with a mobile company via the SIM Sherpa website, we receive a small referral fee from that provider to thank us for getting them a new customer (commission).

This commission is paid from the provider's own general profit margin. It does not cost you any extra money to place an order via SIM Sherpa.

Independent and on the consumer's side

Working in the mobile telecoms industry, our founders were disappointed at how some of the UK's most trusted sources for web comparison push particular products based not on what the customer needs but on how much their partners are paying to promote them.

SIM Sherpa was set up to act differently. It is still a professional comparison site that receives compensation from the companies whose products are promoted here. But recommendations are only ever based on what consumers tell us they want and the latest view of the market. And never based on who's made the highest bid.

We know SIM only is the best value way to get a mobile deal

and we want more people to know too

First there were hugely expensive line rental contracts for the few, then Pay As You Go made having a mobile affordable for everyone, and more recently came the age of Pay Monthly phone contracts and the continuous cycle of upgrades every 2 years. In the last 3 years though, SIM only has emerged as a fast growing new consumer favourite. We believe keeping your current phone or buying a new one outright and paying mobile companies only for use of their service, is the best value and most common-sense way to do mobile. SIM Sherpa was founded to introduce SIM only to more people.

Sherpa - what's in a name?

The Sherpa are a Nepalese ethnic group best known around the world for their elite mountaineering abilities as well as for acting as guides in their native Himalayas to explorers throughout history. For us, the Sherpa name couldn't be more apt as SIM Sherpa was founded as an impartial guide to SIM only contracts. And that mountaineering spirit of freedom and independence is exactly what consumers to experience once they've freed themselves from phone contracts.
