Earn money off your ASDA shopping with your mobile plan

ASDA Mobile have a new Rewards scheme that lets you earn money off groceries at ASDA with your mobile plan. Every month, they’ll pay a percentage of your monthly plan’s cost into what they call your “Rewards Cashpot”.

If you shop at ASDA, you may already have one of these set up. If not, you can set one up for free. As money accumulates, you can then convert it into vouchers to use for money off your in-store ASDA shopping.

It’s ASDA’s way of rewarding you for loyalty. You’ll need to join on a 12-month or 24-month pay monthly contract with ASDA to benefit. It doesn’t work on their pay as you go plans.

Qualifying ASDA SIM only plans

In normal times, you’ll earn 2% of the monthly cost of 12-month contracts in your Cashpot. Or 5% on 24-month contracts (see terms here). Not huge figures then, but sometimes ASDA have promotions where you will earn more.

Look out for promotions where you get boosted Rewards

We’ve seen ASDA boost the amount of your monthly bill you’ll get in your Cashpot up to 20% as a promotion. These are usually offered for a short time, but you get the boosted Rewards throughout your entire contract.

This is very generous, as you get four times the amount of points you’d get each month on a 24-month contract and ten times as much on a 12-month contract. That can give you some useful savings on your shopping.

Of course, you’ll get the most out of this benefit on a 24-month contract as you’ll get the boosted Rewards for longer. That’s on top of their longer contracts being cheaper per month in the first place.

The best ASDA SIM only contracts that give you Rewards

ASDA Mobile are already one of the lower-cost options around. So not only are you already saving being with them vs a more expensive network, but you’re getting a discount on already great value plans.

We think it’s a handy little benefit if you shop at ASDA

It does depend when you join, as to how useful this benefit is. The regular Rewards won’t save you a huge amount off your shopping. But if you join during a boosted Cashpot promotion, it quickly becomes worthwhile.

ASDA will often also give you a boost to your Cashpot for taking a phone contract, on top of the boosted Rewards on your usage (mins, texts, data) plan. That’s a nice reward for taking a phone plan.

And we like that ASDA are tying in their mobile brand into their shopping brand, much like Tesco do with their Clubcard benefit. The two work quite similarly and it’s a big boost to how we rate ASDA.

In all we’d say it’s normally just a nice little benefit for ASDA shoppers, whereas if you join at the right time it can give you some serious value out of your plan. A great benefit overall.
