Here's how we treat personal data and keep it safe at

Who we are

We're SIM Sherpa. We don't know who you are.

Nobody likes snoopy companies. Which is why we actually capture a remarkably small amount of data about the people who use our website at (that's here).

And we're certainly not in the business of passing it on to other companies for free, or even if they offered money for it. There's such a thing as principles.

Nevertheless, it's a legal requirement to publish a privacy policy detailing what data we do collect and how we treat it and keep it safe. So here it all is below.

It's also important to note that we update this policy from time to time with new details if the facts change. So check back if you're ever interested.

The first thing to say is we have a whole detailed page dedicated to what precisely cookies are and what we do with them. It can all be found in our cookie policy and your settings page here.

If you read that and decide you don't want us to store cookies on your computer, press the "change settings" button on that page and we'll destroy any cookies we've already stored.

The cookies we use are for tracking website activity like page views and errors. And we have another cookie that remembers whether you want to enable or disable those tracking cookies. And that's it.

We've made it so that you won't experience a worse version of SIM Sherpa by not accepting cookies. So if you want to change your cookie settings for our site, use the useful link below.

We use Google Analytics to track visits to our website

Google Analytics logo

When someone visits, we ask them if they're happy to accept cookies from the third party service, Google Analytics (read more about the tracking cookie here).

If they accept, Google Analytics collects standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns, like which search engine they've arrived on, what type of device they're using, which browser, a rough geographical location.

We use it to work out which of our pages are most popular, so that we can write even more interesting articles about that topic. We also use it to see which mobile deals on our site people are interested in and if our paid-marketing is effective.

The information in Google Analytics is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Mailing lists: we don't have any but we do use your email when your provide it

Emails on a screen

When the new GDPR (privacy laws) came in, you probably got loads of pleading emails from companies you'd forgotten you'd given your email address to. We weren't one of them, as we have no mailing lists.

In our SIM only deals and phone contracts finders, we do offer you the opportunity to send yourself an email with a particular plan to buy later. This is an automatic and anonymous process with no human visibility of your details.

When you submit your email, we do not store it in a database. Nor do we place your email address on a mailing list to send you marketing communications.

We also don't do anything weird like buying mailing lists off other companies to bombard you with emails about how great we are. Nor do we (or can we) sell your email address to any provider.

Third parties (that means companies other than SIM Sherpa)

Third party

How would you illustrate 3rd parties?

SIM Sherpa is what's known as an affiliate website. We work with mobile networks to promote their products and receive commission when you click on a deal here, and make a purchase on the mobile network's website.

This is tracked via the link you click from our website onto theirs. It's an anonymous process (the link says nothing about you). The mobile network will have their own separate privacy and cookie policy for their website.

We also don't ask the mobile network for any personal details about you like your name, mobile number, email address, home address or anything else.

No mobile network has ever asked us for these details off us either. And if they did, we wouldn't supply them. It would just be wrong all over.

If you don't like the idea of your visit to a third party website being tracked, do not follow links from to any other website. That way, nothing will be tracked.
