Networks that support visual voicemail

These Vodafone-based networks offer visual voicemail

If you’re an iPhone user and want to join a UK provider that lets you use visual voicemail, you now have more choices than ever. There are a few providers on Vodafone’s network that support the feature.

Vodafone offer it on all pay monthly and Pay As You Go plans (read their guide to setting it up here). But you can get it on a few budget providers too, the first being VOXI who have offered it for a while.

You can also get it on ASDA Mobile. And it’s not like you get an inferior feature on these cheaper networks, it works exactly the same on any iPhone 5 or newer device with iOS 12 or more recent software installed.

Talkmobile and Lebara also use Vodafone’s network, but we’re not sure if they support visual voicemail as they’ve said nothing on their websites. We will test this out, but for now it’s safer to assume they don’t.

You can also get visual voicemail on O2 and Sky Mobile who piggyback off their network. You get it included on all of Sky Mobile’s plans and most of O2’s plans, except for their Pay As You Go monthly bundles.

Interestingly, Sky Mobile support Samsung Galaxy models from the S9 onwards for visual voicemail, not just iPhones. Some forum users have said it works on some Androids on O2, but they don’t explicitly say so.

That gives them an advantage over the networks above, as Android users have a chance of getting it. But iPhone users may prefer the lower prices that VOXI and ASDA offer over Sky and O2.

We imagine that support for Android devices will be expanded in time. For now Android users on less popular models may be out of luck.

Three and EE are also decent choices for visual voicemail

Despite being one of the main UK networks, Three still don't technically have visual voicemail. But if your phone supports the feature, it can still work. That's because many phones support it at device level.

If you don't have network signal or are engaged, Three's network won't hold onto the visual voicemail for you, you'll have to ring the number like normal. But if you do have signal but miss a call, it will be stored.

EE have supported visual voicemail for a while and offer it on all their pay monthly (not PAYG) plans. They support all compatible iPhone models, but not any Androids. They’re an expensive, but still good option.
