SMARTY are one of a few networks that let you link multiple SIM only plans under a Group Plan. This means you can bring your friends or family onto one network and manage everything under one roof.

To get a Group plan, you can either simply sign up for new SMARTY SIM for each user in the normal way and then add them to your group (follow the instructions here). Or you can link existing SMARTY plans together.

Once set up, you’ll only need one set of login details to view and manage every plan in your group. Everyone gets their own allowance, and you can pay for all of them on the same card.

SMARTY’s group plans make it easier to keep track of your household’s usage and spending. In this guide, we’ll explain what makes their scheme one of the most user-friendly and best value options in the UK.

SMARTY already offer some of the best value SIM only deals in the UK, and their group plans help you save even more. You’ll get 10% off every additional SIM you add to your account, even most promotional deals.

The savings can seem small individually, but across multiple plans you’ll end up spending far less than on other networks. You can add up to 7 extra SIMs and the discount applies to all of them.

Each user can pick a plan with the right data allowance for their needs, so there’s less chance of someone running out early and being charged extra. And you’re free to add new SIMs or drop them whenever you need.

It’s a flexible setup that works just as well for friends or housemates as it does for families. There’s nothing stopping SMARTY customers linking their plans together either. Anyone can take advantage of the discounts.

SMARTY’s group plans don’t just help you save money. They also make managing multiple SIMs easier. Everything sits under one account, so you don’t have to remember multiple logins or check different network websites.

You can see all your plans in one place, track how much data each user has left and manage any extras. You can even give view-only access to other users, so they can check their usage without changing anything.

Only the account holder can make payments or buy data, which is ideal for managing kids’ plans and avoiding surprises. And if the account holder cancels their plan, the group still stays active with the discount intact.

And because SMARTY don’t run credit checks, you won’t be limited when setting up your group. You can add up to seven additional plans without hitting credit limits. It means they’re open to literally anyone.

The disadvantages of SMARTY’s scheme

The scheme could be made better in a couple of ways

Sky Mobile share between SIMs or devices

While SMARTY’s group plans offer great value overall, there are a few downsides to be aware of. Firstly, each added SIM has its own billing cycle, so they won’t all renew on the same date.

That can make it harder to keep track of payments, especially if you’ve added multiple plans. Most other networks with similar schemes bill all your plans on the same day, which is more convenient.

And each SIM has to be added one by one, which takes more time to set up compared to some networks. There’s also no way to send data between group members to help prevent extra charges like you can on Sky Mobile.

That said, buying extra data on SMARTY is relatively cheap anyway. None of these drawbacks ruin the group plan scheme for us. But it’s always worth knowing the full facts before signing up for anything.
