We've broken down the best deals into categories:
Three's hidden offer below saves you £48 against the price advertised at Three.co.uk and has been the UK's cheapest unlimited data SIM over Black Friday. We don't yet know when it ends:
Their 24-month contract is also worth considering if you're willing to commit. Over 24 months, it works out to £17.50 a month. So it's cheaper than the above. But the cost is higher once out of contract:
That is on a 24-month contract, so it's worth checking your signal on Three up front to be sure. But you get some nice stuff like 5G at no extra cost when it launches and inclusive worldwide roaming in 71 countries.
We did like Vodafone's discounted 18-month plan below, which offered their best 4G/5G data speeds and saved you a modest £54. But sadly it expired on 2nd December:
If you're looking for a short 1-month plan, the standout deal comes from SMARTY (order by 17th December):
It's an ultra-flexible deal on a speedy network. SMARTY use Three, so check your coverage here before signing up. You can read our full SMARTY network review here too.
Useful link: Compare all unlimited data plans here
For an out-and-out low price, SMARTY's Black Friday 100GB plan got our vote. It was on a short 1-month deal using the Three network (check signal here). But sadly it expired on 3rd December:
Three's hidden unlimited data offer below actually still beats a lot of capped 50GB+ deals on price. It's £48 a year less than advertised at Three.co.uk and is only available via our link direct to Three's checkout below:This now-expired Virgin Mobile deal was also huge value, given it got you on EE's superior 4G network, lets you keep unused data and comes with free social media messaging data (read our Virgin review here):
Or join EE directly for £1 more and get more data, with this 18-month offer available until 10th December:
BT broadband customers were able to get this 100GB deal with a free JBL Soundbar worth £149.99 until it expired on 7th December:
Useful link: Compare all plans
Because of the overall quality of BT Mobile (coverage through EE, superfast 4G, WiFi/4G-calling), we thought their deal below was already the best value in this category, and their lowest price all year.
But they also added a free JBL soundbar worth £149.99 for orders before 7th December (pricing for BT broadband customers):
Plusnet Mobile (read our review here) have a similar deal on a shorter contract also on EE (expires 4th Dec):
Otherwise, you could pretty much pick similar deals from low-cost providers to get on the main network of your choice. For a deal on the Vodafone network, VOXI's data boost offer expired on 2nd December:
Or this is unusually good pricing for O2 on an 18-month contract, available until 22nd December:
Or for the Three network, you still have a choice between SMARTY and iD Mobile as neither of these offers has yet expired:
Useful link: Compare all plans
Three's hidden offer below is huge all-round value. Alongside the plan, you get free roaming in 71 worldwide countries, unlimited streaming data for Netflix and other apps and it's 5G-ready too (unknown end date):
Unlimited minutes + Unlimited texts + 12GB data = £16 £10 a month (12‑month contract)
See hidden deal
It's a hidden offer, with improved a £76 saving compared to what's available if you look at Three's main range of SIM only plans at Three.co.uk. Follow the link to go straight to the checkout.
A very close second place for this data allowance was Virgin Mobile's 10GB for £10 SIM that ended on 2nd Dec:
Virgin Mobile have a lot going for them, like using EE's superfast 4G network for excellent coverage and blistering downloads (check Virgin signal here), plus nice added benefits (read our Virgin Mobile review here).
For more flexiblility Plusnet also use EE and their deal is only on a 1-month contract (order by 4th Dec):
You can get £5 free credit with this 1-month plan from giffgaff that uses the O2 network:
iD's 10GB for £10 offer expired on 2nd December:
Or this SIM only deal from Virgin Mobile was available until 2nd December, which gave you more data for a slightly higher price than the above on the EE network:
5000 minutes + Unlimited texts + 15GB data = £18 £13 a month (12‑month contract)

This hidden offer from Three is still stronger than any Black Friday offers with more than 5GB. It's only for customers arriving from comparison websites:
Unlimited minutes + Unlimited texts + 4GB 8GB data = £13 £8 a month (12‑month contract)

On paper, this is an excellent price to join Vodafone on a boosted data deal. But be aware this Basics plan doesn't let you roam at all and doesn't include WiFi calling or 4G calling:
If you've got Sky TV, we'd recommend having a look at their Black Friday offer here, which has been reduced by £5 a month for 12 months and gives you unlimited Sky TV app streaming data:
For a deal that uses the EE network, there's a couple of excellent value options from Virgin Mobile lasting until 2nd December (Cyber Monday):
Another good deal using the Vodafone network is VOXI's data boosted plan here which now comes with an extra 2GB data on a short 1-month term when you order by Cyber Monday (2nd December):
If you want the comfort of joining a major network directly, this 1-month Flex Plan from EE has triple data for 6 months offer, when you order before 30th January 2020:
Useful link: Compare all plans
Sky Mobile's hidden offer really is amazing value, even if the original price was unrealistic. On top of the mins, texts and data, keep unused data for 3 years and stream Sky TV apps without using data on the O2 network:
Sky's deal even beats low-cost specialist Plusnet Mobile's Black Friday deal, which is on a shorter contract on the EE network (order by 4th December):
Or iD Mobile on the Three network (order by 2nd Dec):
But this way bigger hidden offer from Three is actually beating loads of 3GB and 4GB plans for price, even though it comes with twice the data you're looking for:
Unlimited minutes + Unlimited texts + 4GB 8GB data = £13 £8 a month (12‑month contract)
See full deal

If you're only after a smallish amount of data, there's loads of competition for your custom over Black Friday and Cyber Monday. iD Mobile have some eye-opening hidden deals at a rock-bottom £5 a month:
Even though it comes with more data than you're after, Sky Mobile's hidden deal here out-competes lots of smaller plans on price anyway, uses the O2 network and you don't have to have Sky at home to join:
For deals that use the EE network, Plusnet Mobile's plan below is very well priced and lasts until 4th December:
And Virgin Mobile's hidden deal here lets you keep unused data each month, message on Whatsapp and Messenger without using data, and runs on the EE's superfast network (order by end 2nd Dec):
Useful link: Compare all plans
If you've got £5 to spend on your monthly SIM only deal, these plans from iD Mobile are your only options without spending extra:
If you can spend an extra £1 a month, you do open up a few more options with better network coverage and more perks. Here's a look at what you can get:
You can even join one of the main four networks Vodafone, on one of their Basics Plans for £6. But be aware the SIM doesn't work at all abroad and doesn't include 4G calling or WiFi calling:
There's not a lot of room for discounting at this low price, so there's that many Black Friday offers here.

If you're willing to up your budget to £8, you can get a really impressive 8GB with this hidden deal from Three:
Unlimited minutes + Unlimited texts + 4GB 8GB data = £13 £8 a month (12‑month contract)
See full deal
Otherwise, you're looking at getting less data from other networks for similar prices:
This £8 Vodafone Basics SIM has a hidden offer that boosts its data allowance from 1GB to 5GB. It doesn't let you roam at all or have WiFi calling or 4G calling:
Useful link: Compare all plans
The most data you can get for £10 a month is a whopping 12GB thanks to this huge hidden deal from Three:
Unlimited minutes + Unlimited texts + 12GB data = £16 £10 a month (12‑month contract)
See hidden deal
You won't find the 12GB for £10 SIM on Three's main website as it's exclusively for customers arriving from comparison websites like simsherpa.com. Just click our link above and go straight to Three's checkout.
This Black Friday SIM from Virgin Mobile gets you on the superfast EE network with nearly as much data for your £10 monthly spend (available until Cyber Monday, 2nd December):
Plusnet have a good alternative on the EE network but a shorter contract than Virgin:
For a shorter plan, this deal from VOXI on Vodafone's network comes with unlimited data for social media and has been given a data boost over the Black Friday period, if you order by 2nd December:
You get more for your money than with EE's own 1-month deal here that's got triple data for 6 months when you order by 30th January:

It's not too late to get one of the truly impressive deals Three have had over the Black Friday period on SIM only. This hidden 8GB for £8 offer is proving incredibly popular:
Unlimited minutes + Unlimited texts + 4GB 8GB data = £13 £8 a month (12‑month contract)
See full deal
Or use our hidden offer link below to get Three's 12-month unlimited data SIM £48 a year cheaper than advertised on the main part of Three.co.uk:
Or you can go 50p cheaper with Three's 6 months half price deal below, which works out to £17.50 a month on average, spread over a 24-month contract (on-going price £20):
The £18 price for the 12-month contract is better than what it's cost at any point in the year. The same 6 months half price ran for a large part of 2019 on the 24-month deal. Check Three's signal here.
Lastly, this plan has just been reduced down further to a record £10 too:
Unlimited minutes + Unlimited texts + 12GB data = £16 £10 a month (12‑month contract)

This is an even better batch of deals from Three than last year's Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The offer end dates are so far unknown.

BT Mobile were the only network giving away a free gift alongside some ultra-competitively priced SIM only plans. You were able to get a JBL Soundbar worth £149.99 with these deals (BT broadband customer pricing):
If you're not fussed about the free gift, this 8GB plan doesn't come with a soundbar but it well-priced from BT, even if it's not market-leading:
These offers are all due to continue through Cyber Monday until 7th December.

EE's Black Friday SIM only offers are all on longer 18-month contracts. In exchange for a bigger commitment you'll get a record amount of data for the money, available until 10th December:
If you're only after a smallish amount of data (under 10GB), there's nothing exciting from EE on pay monthly. They never discount below 20GB.
These pre-paid 1-month Flex SIMs do come with Triple data for 6 months when you order by 30th January 2020 and come with as little as 2GB 6GB for £10.

giffgaff are fairly cheap year-round and you can already get £5 free credit with them when you join via our special invite page here. For Black Friday their SIM only prices haven't got any lower.
They have to be careful about bold giveaways for new customers, because having only 30-day plans means all their existing customers can also move easily on to any new deal.
For that reason, Black Friday is usually a pretty muted event on giffgaff. They are offering discounts on phone contracts though.
If you want to join giffgaff on a SIM only, your best shot at squeezing some extra value out of your deal is to use our free £5 credit offer here, with your first £10 top up or goodybag purchase.

iD Mobile are always specialists in low-cost, small data SIM only plans throughout the year. And their offers for Black Friday focus on them. But many of them ended on 2nd December.
There were market-leading hidden £5 offers that are better than advertised direct:
And then there were a whole raft of other plans with different amount of data and minutes to sift through.

O2'sfull range of SIM only deals for Black Friday actually lasts until 22nd December. As predicted, they focus on large data plans on longer 18-month deals.
This is the best value per GB we've seen all year from O2:
Unlimited minutes + Unlimited texts + 50GB 100GB data = £20 a month (18‑month contract)
See full deal
And this is a standout 12-month plan:
Black Friday on O2 is always more focussed on phone contract discounts, so we're not too surprised to only see limited deals on SIM only.

Plusnet Mobile were a great option to pick up a deal that uses the EE network on a short 1-month plan over the Black Friday / Cyber Monday period. And you don't have to have their broadband to benefit.
Most eye-catching was a 10GB for £10 deal. It was the market-leading on price for a 1-month plan (cheaper 12-month deals are available):
This 20GB plan shaped up very nicely price-wise too:
If both of those were way too much data, this 2GB plan offered very good value:
The rest of their deals were decent too:
These deals weren't around long at all, and ended on 4th December.

Sky have one of the best offers for the whole of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This hidden deal is ludicrous value. Our special link discounts it by 50% from an unrealistically high £12 to a ridiculously cheap £6:
Or for more value, Sky reduced the cost of their 8GB SIM only plan by £5 a month for the 12-month contract, making it currently the best-priced option of any provider using O2:
On top of their extensive coverage through the O2 network (check your signal here), you also get nice benefits like streaming Sky TV apps without using data, keeping unused data for 3 years and changing plans mid-contract.
Otherwise, Sky have mainly been focussing their Black Friday / Cyber Monday offers on handset deals.

SMARTY launched their headline SIM only offers for the Black Friday period a while back now. This one is available until 17th December and beats all other 20GB+ SIM only plans for price at the moment:
It's only on a 1-month contract, which makes the price pretty remarkable. It's worth noting the boosted data returns to 8GB after 12 months, so remember to keep an eye on your plan and compare again later.
There was also a price-leading deal with 100GB but it ended on 3rd December:
But you can still get £3 a month off SMARTY's unlimited data SIM plan for your first 12 months (it's also on a 1-month deal so you're actually free to leave whenever):

Tesco Mobile's SIM only Black Friday deals, only lasted until 1st December. As with previous years, there was a decent spread of plans and prices:
As with a lot of networks, Tesco can afford to make their Black Friday offers best on their bigger, more expensive deals. These were all the best value we'd seen from them all year:

The last chance to get one of Virgin Mobile's Black Friday 2019 SIM only deals has passed. As predicted, they were offering huge value across multiple data allowances. Here's what you could get until 2nd Dec:
5000 minutes + Unlimited texts + 15GB data = £18 £13 a month (12‑month contract)
See replacement deal
For us, the standout deals here were £10 for 10GB and £19 for 50GB. They're excellent value ways to get on the superfast EE network for the impressive data speeds and coverage (check signal here), without the premium.

Launch date: November 29th 2019
End date: 2nd December 2019 (Cyber Monday)
As part of their Black Friday sale lasting only until 2nd December, Vodafone knocked off £3 from the monthly cost of their 18-month unlimited data SIMs.
We think the only one worth taking was their Unlimited Max plan, as it has no speed limits and gets you full 4G/5G speeds where available:
The other two unlimited data deals are cheaper but place limits on the speed of your data equivalent to 2 Mbps (3G style):
Or 10 Mbps (like an average rural 4G speed):
There were also two data boost offers on their non-unlimited 18-month contracts:
If you're searching for the cheapest way to join Vodafone, and you don't need WiFi calling or any roaming abroad, consider the Basics SIM plans with improved pricing on this hidden link.

As a mobile network that already crams quite a lot of value into their deals, we'd predicted that VOXI would only do a few minor data boosts during the Black Friday period.
And that's what they did, with extra data on both these plans for no extra cost, when you ordered by 2nd December (Cyber Monday).
VOXI were the cheapest, best-value and most-flexible way to get a deal on the Vodafone network during this 2019 Black Friday and Cyber Monday period.

Choose which networks you'd consider:
✔ Expect plenty of black
If you're thinking of ordering on Black Friday to sign up to the best possible SIM only deal, we thought you'd find it useful to know the types of offers to expect.
We'd say there are 4 main categories of offer:
1) Money-off discounts
2) Gifts and rewards
3) Promotional tariffs (extra data)
4) Free months where you pay no monthly charge
In the sections below, we pick through each type of offer and list where you might be able to find that type of deal.
Black Friday is supposed to be about discounts, and getting things cheaper than normal. We're seeing a large number of mobile networks offering outright discounts against the 'usual price' of their SIM only plans.
This is usually the most valuable type of offer, particularly if you want to join one of the traditionally more-expensive networks. But we'd advise a bit of caution when choosing your deal.
The reason we've said 'usual prices' above is that you sometimes see providers subtly increase particular plans in the run up to Black Friday so that they can be slashed during the event (called price establishing).
We think some of the best price discounts on SIMs for Black Friday so far are: Sky's hidden 3GB for £12 £6, Virgin Mobile's 10GB for £16 £10 and Three's hidden unlimited data for £22 £18.
Some fairly good offers are available from EE, BT, O2, Tesco and Vodafone as well. But we're still waiting for Black Friday itself in case there's more to come from them.
Our advice is to use price comparison tools like ours to compare all deals at once, rather than be lured in by a particular plan that seems like it's got a huge discount.
In the run-up to Black Friday, it's not looking like many networks are going to offer extras like free gifts, rewards or vouchers alongside their SIM only plans.
Our biggest hope was for BT Mobile to add some large pre-paid Mastercards on their SIMs - this hasn't happened yet. But they have added a free JBL soundbar to their plans over 20GB.
In the case of BT's 10GB 20GB for £15 a month SIM, the deal itself is pretty good value already (price valid for BT broadband customers). So the soundbar is a true bonus for you or a Christmas present for someone else.
Generally, as long as the gift is genuinely valuable, these types of deal can be good to pick up. In previous years, these have tended to be things like Amazon or iTunes vouchers or pre-paid Mastercards.
Mobile networks like these offers because it avoids them discounting the overall price of their deals. Often you'll have to jump through a few hoops to actually get the reward though.
Our advice with gifts and rewards is to check you'd actually ever use the reward and that you're not paying more than you would normally just to get the reward!
This is the most common type of deal available during the Black Friday period on SIM only, we think because it avoids networks having to drastically cut their prices.
We're seeing excellent deals this November 2019 with more data, minutes or texts than what's regularly available with a provider. There's double data, triple data or even quadruple data on a limited number of plans.
We think this year's best Black Friday data boosts so far are from SMARTY (8GB 45GB for £15), Three (4GB 8GB for £13 £8), BT (10GB 20GB for £15) and EE (triple data on Flex SIMs).
We're also seeing decent deals in this category from iD, O2, Plusnet, Vodafone, Virgin and VOXI. Several of these networks are keen to attract long-term customers with headline-grabbing mega deals.
These are the favourite type of promotions among the cheaper networks because it means they don't have to cut the prices of their already low-cost deals. They can just give you more for the same price.
For customers, it's great too as it's a chance to get more for your money. We'd recommend using our comparison tool to compare all the Black Friday deals against one another.
The final type of SIM only deal we see during the Black Friday period is probably the least common: where networks give you a number of free months.
Naturally you're usually only going to see this type of promotion on 12-month or longer SIM only contracts, because on shorter 1-month deals, you could just take the free months and then do a runner!
With these types of deals, you should calculate the average monthly cost of a deal over the total number of months in your contract. But remember you'll continue paying the full rate once your contract is up.
For Black Friday 2019 we've seen the return of a previous 'six months half price' promotion on Three's 24-month unlimited data plan. Tesco or O2 could potentially still offer some free months as well.
Earlier in 2019 we saw SMARTY offer a deal where your second month is free. This is particularly good as they only have one-month contracts. There's a slim chance of a comeback on Black Friday.
